Shore Excursion Halibut Fishing
Congratulations to the birthday boy TJ for his perfect keeper length 38″ halibut on a shore excursion halibut fishing charter yesterday! He and his family arrived on the Norwegian Bliss cruise ship. We met them at the dock bright and early for their perfectly timed shore excursion. The goal for the day was to fulfill this birthday boy from Florida’s wish: to catch a halibut.
We had to hustle, but at alaskagofish.com we do our best to make every trip the trip of a lifetime.
We ran out to the boonies and dropped the anchor a time or two. On our 1/2 day halibut charter, perfect for those coming in on a cruise ship, TJ was able to land the perfect halibut. We also nabbed a couple of rockfish out in that little honey hole.
TJ hasn’t caught a halibut before, but we know he and his family will enjoy eating this fine butt when they get home to Florida.
The halibut fishing has been good so far this season. We are often catching halibut that are just too big to keep. We are looking forward to some more fine fishing between now and the king salmon opener on the 1st of June.

Just under the limit! Nice fish!
